Saint Alphonsus Opens Caldwell Health Plaza to Meet Treasure Valley's Growing Healthcare Needs |
New 60,000-square-foot facility offers comprehensive medical services to rapidly expanding Caldwell community |
In response to the rapid population growth in the Treasure Valley, Saint Alphonsus Health System has unveiled the Caldwell Health Plaza, a state-of-the-art medical facility designed to provide accessible and essential healthcare services to the community.
Located on Aviation Avenue near the intersection of Interstate 84 and Highway 20/26, the 60,000-square-foot facility spans 18 acres and houses over 30 physicians specializing in more than 15 areas of care, including primary and urgent care, pediatrics, cardiology, orthopedics, and imaging services.
“Saint Alphonsus is ready and honored to serve the people of Caldwell,” said David McFadyen, president and CEO of Saint Alphonsus Health System. “This facility allows us to deliver compassionate and healing care to one of the fastest-growing communities in the country.”
The grand opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 30, with the facility beginning patient services on November 3. The modular design of the Health Plaza allows for future expansion to accommodate the evolving needs of Canyon County residents.
“By creating more access to primary and specialty care in Caldwell, better health outcomes for our community are possible, not just today but for the long haul,” stated Dr. Mark Nassir, president of the medical group.
Caldwell, Idaho's fourth-largest municipality, has experienced a population increase of 21.5% between 2020 and 2024, according to U.S. Census Bureau statistics. This growth underscores the necessity for expanded healthcare services in the area.
“With that growth comes a responsibility to step up and ensure the community has access to care close to home,” said Clint Child, president of the Nampa Saint Alphonsus Medical Center. “We are proud to answer that call for this community.”
The facility offers a range of services, including family medicine, pediatrics, OBGYN, cardiology, sports medicine, orthopedics, and lab and imaging services. While it provides urgent care, it does not include emergency room services; patients requiring such care are directed to nearby facilities.
“Any good medical facility is founded on primary care as the foundation. It’s imperative to have a physician or provider that knows your medical needs and can care for you from that standpoint,” Dr. Nassir emphasized.
The opening of the Caldwell Health Plaza is part of a broader strategy to meet the expanding healthcare needs of the Treasure Valley. The facility's design includes modular features that allow for future expansion based on community needs.
“The facility is a large parcel, and based on population and patient needs, we can take a critical look at those factors and then build a strategy and a plan to build out from there,” Dr. Nassir explained.
With over 100 advanced practice providers and support staff, the Health Plaza is poised to offer comprehensive and compassionate care to the residents of Caldwell and the surrounding Treasure Valley area. |
